Connecticut Sublease Agreement | PDF
A Connecticut sublease agreement is an arrangement wherein a person rents from someone else who is already renting from an owner/landlord on a property. This can be for any length of time as long as the sublease arrangement does not go beyond the length of the original lease made with the property owner or management company. All payments are to be made to the tenant, and the tenant is responsible for paying the landlord whether or not the sublessee pays the tenant. This is the main reason why it is recommended that any potential sublessees be put through a credit examination (using a rental application) to verify their income. Once the form is signed, it is legal and binding for the period specified.
