An Alabama month-to-month rental agreement is between a tenant and landlord that renews automatically until either party gives the notice to quit. At the same rate, the landlord can choose to increase the rent or modify any of the lease terms with at least thirty (30) days’ notice. This gives the tenant enough time to find new housing and the landlord enough time to find a new tenant in the chance of termination.
Minimum Termination Notice
Thirty (30) days. The landlord or tenant has the option to terminate the lease agreement with at least thirty (30) days’ notice (§ 35-9A-441(b)).
