Oregon Month to Month Rental Agreement – PDF – Word – Templates
A monthly rental arrangement in Oregon allows for a person to lease property from a residential landlord for a short term basis. The contract is structured to not have an end date and updates every month upon payment by the tenant for another thirty (30) day term.
Under Oregon law the landlord must grant at least one month’s notice to the tenant before terminating the agreement. This is usually done with a certified letter sent to the rental property address. The tenant may choose as well to cancel or modify the agreement under the same guidelines.
The landlord should be aware that the eviction process is nearly identical for both long term and short term renters. Therefore it is advised that the landlord seek the use of a rental application to verify the tenant’s background before authorizing a lease.
- The the housing unit was built before 1978 the landlord is required to supply the lead based paint disclosure form at the time of lease signing. The tenant must authorize the document and it must be attached to the rental contract.
