Missouri Residential Lease Agreement Form – PDF Template
The Missouri residential lease agreement is the standard one (1) year template that brings together a landlord and tenant to occupy livable space for monthly rent. Negotiations usually begin on the terms after the landlord performs a check on the potential tenant’s credit through an application. If the landlord feels the qualifications are met, the terms of the agreement will begin to be discussed which are most often times the following:

Maximum Amount ($) – Security deposits may be set at up to an amount that is no greater than two (2) months’ of rent (§ 535.300).
Returning – The security deposit must be returned to the tenant within thirty (30) days from their rental agreement’s termination date (§ 535.300).
Property Manager Information – The landlord is required to give their tenants the name and address of their property manager, as well as the address where notices should be sent to (§ 535.185).
Lead-Based Paint Disclosure – Federal law mandates landlords to inform potential tenants of any property erected before 1978 of the probable presence of lead paint on the premises.
Rent Grace Period
There are no statutes regarding grace periods for tenants to pay their rent without penalty in Missouri. However, landlords can include grace periods in their rental agreements, along with applicable late fees.
