South Carolina Sublease Agreement | PDF – MS Word
A South Carolina sublease agreement allows a tenant who is under a lease agreement to rent out a portion or the entire same space (otherwise known as “subletting”) to someone else. This type of tenancy is usually forbidden in standard lease agreements so it is advised to check the original agreement for the language pertaining to subleasing.
The new tenant, or sublessee, has the sole responsibility of the original tenant and any evictions, non-payment of rent, or damage done to the premises is their responsibility. Therefore, it is a good idea to verify a sublessee with a rental application to confirm that they are credible.
