Illinois Roommate Agreement | PDF – MS Word
An Illinois roommate agreement is a method for clearly documenting the terms and conditions of a living arrangement between two (2) or more individuals. Ideally, such an agreement should cover as much ground as possible to help ensure an amicable living arrangement. All roommates involved should sit down with this document so the obligations, responsibilities, and other important items can be negotiated. Once the parties are satisfied with the amount of rent their paying and other rental conditions, each roommate can sign the document, thus making it legally binding. However, a master lease must exist that defines the terms of the rental arrangement between the landlord and the master tenant; the landlord needn’t be involved in the roommate agreement.
