A Georgia rental application is a form used by a landlord or their representative to check a potential lessee’s credit, background, rental history (checking with previous landlords), and employment history. The tenant may have to pay a fee for the application to cover background checks and processing costs; it is up to the landlord whether or not they wish to charge a fee. If the application is approved, the lessee will be issued a lease agreement and will be asked to pay a security deposit.
Maximum Application Fee ($)
The landlord may charge as much as they want for the application fee. According to the Landlord-Tenant Handbook (Page 5), the fee can be applied to the first (1st) month’s rent but not required.
