Ohio Sublease Agreement | PDF
An Ohio sublease agreement is a form that is common in urban and college areas that allows a tenant (also referred to as the sublessor) to rent out the entire or a portion of the space he or she is currently leasing to another renter (sublessee). Typically, the landlord must be notified and may have to sign the sublease if it states in the original lease (also referred to as the master lease) that notification or signature is required.
It must be made understood by all parties that the sublessor is liable for any nonpayment of rent, eviction, and damage made by the sublessee on the property. No sublease term shall extend past the master lease unless it has been agreed upon by the landlord.
- If the property was built before 1978, the lead-based paint disclosure form is required to be attached and signed by the sublessee.
