The Pennsylvania Roommate Agreement documents the basic promises two or more roommates agree to keeping in relation to the residence they share. Every agreement will, of course, need to cover essentials such as rents and security deposits. In a roommate situation, seasoned cohabitants are likely to go a few steps further by wishing to discuss a variety of topics in such  an agreement:

  • Utilities
  • Cleaning
  • Kitchen
  • Storage
  • Parking
  • Overnight Guests
  • Guest Behavior
  • Smoking/Drinking
  • Quiet Times
  • Key Deposits
  • Amenities
  • Internet Service
  • Cable Service

These subjects, plus a few more, are addressed in this form and will require some information to be entered. The act of finalizing this agreement will be the binding signature provided by the roommates. Obviously, this will not bind the Landlord to any roommates who have not signed the Master Lease, however, it will serve to make sure everyone living in the roommate situation knows the rules, acknowledges their responsibilities, and understands they must live up to the agreement by virtue of their signature.

Roommates fulfilling this agreement should make sure that none of the terms discussed will allow for a breach in the Master Lease. Such a circumstance will likely cause a significant amount of trouble in the future since these two documents may not clash in any way. Once the individual terms have been entered and each roommate has provided a signature, it should be dispensed among all the signature roommates.
